20 Zambians and two Somalis arrested by the Drug Enforcement Commission

The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested twenty (20) Zambians and two Somali nationals for trafficking and unlawful possession of psychotropic substances.
Rosenburg Nathan Chanda 26 a door bouncer at Times Café in Lusaka residing in New Chilenje was arrested for unlawful possession of 2 sachets of heroin weighing 0.0370g.

The Commission in Lusaka has also arrested 13 suspects for trafficking in cannabis weighing 53.4kg and in Solwezi two suspects have been arrested for trafficking 4.5kg of cannabis.

On the Copperbelt the Commission has arrested two Zambians and two Somali female nationals for trafficking in various quantities of drugs.
Meanwhile the Commission in Eastern province has arrested and jointly charged Moses Zulu 26 and Ackim Mwale 22 peasant farmers of Gaga Farm for trafficking 12.5kg of cannabis.

All suspects will be appearing in court soon.
The Commission would like to caution Zambians and foreign nationals alike to desist from trafficking in psychotropic substances.
